The Beaches

The beaches are undoubtedly the stand-out feature and the biggest draw for tourists. Pattaya Beach is the most popular spot, where visitors can soak up the rays or head into the water for activities such as parasailing. If the crowds get a little much, Jomtien Beach is a good alternative for a quieter afternoon at the beach.

Where to go & What to see

Unlike several of Thailand’s stunning destinations, family holidays in Pattaya are well catered for, with a whole host of activities to keep the kids entertained. Ramayana Water Park and Cartoon Network Amazone will allow little ones to let off some steam, while Mini Siam is Pattaya’s answer to Legoland, with scale replicas of some of the world’s most famous landmarks.

For adults, Pattaya holidays provide plenty of entertainment too. Walking Street opens to visitors at 6pm each day and is the main hub after dark, with bars, restaurants and nightclubs lining the street.

If you’re still keen to soak up some Thai culture during your getaway, The Sanctuary of Truth is a must-visit. The intricate carvings of the temple are stunning, while the sheer scale of the structure is awe-inspiring. It also hosts cultural shows and Thai kickboxing events.

Wat Phra Khao Yai which, as it’s also known as Big Buddha Hill, probably doesn’t need a lot of explaining. Located in the heart of the city, between Pattaya Beach and Jomtien Beach, you really can’t miss the ginormous gold structure. There are a fair number of steps to navigate to reach the top, but the views alone are worth the effort.
