London

The UK’s capital, its beating cultural heart and one of the most popular destinations for city breaks, from the glitz of the West End theatres and the majesty of its many historic landmarks, to the serenity of its parks and the international flavours of its cafes, restaurants, bistros and pubs.
London is the ideal location for families or couples, with something for all ages around each corner. It is a city dripping with history in every square mile – the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, the British Museum, the Houses of Parliament, all iconic buildings with centuries of tradition.

But London is also fizzing with modernity, from the sleek architecture of More London and the dizzying Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, to major entertainment venues like the O2 and the vibrant neighbourhoods of Camden, Clapham, Peckham and Brixton, where music and art combine to create a refreshing key change.

For views across the city, hop into one of the London Eye pods, take a trip to the top of The Shard, visit The Sky Garden, pop to the summit of Greenwich Park or – of an evening – head up to one of London’s many rooftop bars and sink a drink or two as you gaze out over the illuminated landmarks. If bird’s eye is not your thing, saunter down the River Thames, perhaps with afternoon tea, or wander round the city’s storied streets and stare up at the many blue plaques honouring famous names.

London is also home to some of the world’s premier sporting venues – the London Stadium (where the 2012 Olympic Games were centred), Wembley Stadium, Lord’s, Twickenham and Wimbledon – while there’s numerous venues of varying sizes hosting pop, rock and classical concerts and comedy gigs, such as Wembley Arena, the Hammersmith Apollo and the Royal Albert Hall.
