Where to go & What to see

St Lucia’s jewels in its pretty sparkly crown are the Pitons – Gros and Petit – a UNESCO World Heritage site. Take a two-hour hike to the top of Gros Piton for breath-taking views across the Caribbean Sea in one direction, and across St Lucia in the other.

For a different view of the Pitons, daredevils can check out Morne Coubaril Historical Adventure Park in Soufrière, where visitors can zipline through the rainforest, with the Pitons as the rather impressive backdrop.

Once you’ve met the Pitons challenge, there are plenty more routes to take on across the island. A strenuous hike into Edmund Forest Reserve is rewarded with stunning views of the sea and mountains, as well as a plethora of tropical flowers, while for something less challenging but no less spectacular, take a walk around Barre de L’Isle Forest Reserve.

Toraille Waterfall is another of St Lucia’s beautiful natural sights not to be missed and, in the vicinity, you can also explore the Diamond Botanical Gardens, Soufriere drive-in volcano and the sulphur springs.

The Beaches

Of course, being a Caribbean island, holidays in St Lucia offer some pretty decent beaches too. And by ‘pretty decent’, we really mean ‘pack your bags instantly, these beaches are too stunning to miss out on’!

Anse Chastanet in the south-west is the perfect spot for exploring St Lucia’s incredible reefs and getting out on the water, while for family holidays in St Lucia, there’s no better beach than Reduit in Rodney Bay Village, where a great range of activities will keep the kids occupied all day. Alternatively, quiet, leisurely walks can be enjoyed on Vigie Beach, close to the capital Castries.

But what if that’s not enough? What if you want pristine white beaches, framed by tropical forest, with views of the Pitons? What the visitor wants, St Lucia can serve up. Head to Anse des Pitons and all your dreams will come true.
