Remember only Great Holidays start with a Sunny Heart.

Current Travel Guidelines

Current travel restrictions are determined by the UK government’s traffic light system, whereby countries and territories are designated green, amber or red depending on their current Covid-19 numbers.

The traffic light system supports the safe return to international travel, with different rules and restrictions in place depending on the category of the country or territory travelled from. Each of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland may have differing lists and requirements.

Presently, for green list destinations there are a series of requirements both before travelling to England and upon arrival. Before travelling to England, passengers must take a Covid-19 test, book and pay for a day 2 Covid-19 test and complete a passenger locator form. Upon arrival in England, passengers must take a Covid-19 test on or before day 2 after arrival. Children under four are exempt from this requirement.  Please note that countries on the ‘green watchlist’ are in danger of moving from green to amber, therefore please keep up to date with all the latest travel advice.

For amber destinations, there are currently requirements to quarantine at home for 10 days upon return to the UK, and take pre-departure, day 2 and day 8 Covid-19 tests. For those in England, there is an option to pay for an additional Covid-19 test of day 5 under the ‘Test to Release’ programme, whereby a negative test, providing the day 2 test was also negative, will enable an early end to quarantine.

The Government have announced that as of 19th July they will be ending the quarantine guidelines for the “double jabbed”, those individuals who have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccination and the under 18’s. Some testing regulations will still apply pre departure and on return, depending on the destination being travelled to.
