Seville Holidays

An Overview

Gorgeous Seville, capital of Spain’s Andalucia region, with its famous flamenco culture and striking Metropol Parasol structure, is guaranteed to steal your heart.  Holidays in Seville may not offer the beach escapes of many of Spain’s popular coastal destinations, but you’ll be hard-pushed to find a more attractive city to explore anywhere in the world.

Where to go & What to see

Among the city’s most distinctive landmarks is the Metropol Parasol, also known as Las Setas de Sevilla – or ‘The Mushrooms of Seville’. The wooden structure was completed in 2011 and has already become one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. The structure boasts a rooftop walkway, offering stunning views of Seville, particularly at sunset, and also has an archaeological museum underneath.

Another key spot to visit during city breaks in Seville is the glorious Plaza de Espana. Constructed for the Ibero-American Exposition in 1929, the building combines Renaissance, Mudejar and Art Deco styles in its design. Boating can also be enjoyed on the moat at the front.

Another area developed for the 1929 Expo was Maria Luisa Park and it remains one of Seville’s most beautiful spots for an afternoon stroll.

Elsewhere, the Royal Alcazar Palace and Seville Museum of Fine Arts are great for culture vultures, while the Giralda Bell Tower provides excellent views from the top. For another cultural highlight, take a tour of the Real Maestranza bullring and museum.

If you’re taking the kids, there are plenty of activities to enjoy during family holidays in Seville. For little and big kids alike, the rollercoasters, rides and attractions at Isla Magica theme park will keep everyone entertained, while the water slides are a great way to cool down in the glorious Seville weather.

If the heat does get a bit much, a good option can also be to head inside Seville Aquarium for a few hours.
