What to do and Where to go

If you can drag yourself away from the blissful beaches for a while, Ciutadella de Menorca – the island’s Old Town – is worth a visit. With quaint cobbled streets and picturesque plazas, it’s easy to while away the time here, simply people-watching or enjoying some local tapas. Just along the road, Pont d’en Gil is a mesmerising spot to watch the sunset.

If impressive vistas are your thing, then consider a trek up Menorca’s highest mountain, Monte Toro. From here, you can enjoy jaw-dropping views across the island.

For a spot of local history, the Museo de Menorca, located in the capital Mahon, provides a fascinating insight, while the Museo Militar de Menorca – also in Mahon – is ideal for military history enthusiasts.

Just south of the capital, Splash Sur waterpark provides the perfect day out for family holidays in Menorca and is a great way to cool down when the hot Menorca weather gets a bit too much. With slides and rides for all ages, those not looking for an adrenaline rush can simply lay back and relax on the lazy river or in a jacuzzi – heaven!

Beaches

While there are plenty of things to do, beach holidays in Menorca are undoubtedly the island’s biggest selling point and Cala Galdana is the jewel in an already pretty sparkly crown. The crescent bay, located on the south of the island, is blessed with a white sandy beach and calm, turquoise waters, perfect for families. Start at Mirador Sa Punta for stunning views of the bay before heading down to relax on the beach.

Cala Mitjaneta and Cala Macarelleta are other nearby options to soak up the wonderful Menorca weather among breath-taking scenery.
