The Beaches

For the best beach holidays in Djerba, be sure to research accommodation, as many sandy stretches privately owned by resorts. Plage Sidi Mahrez and Palge de la Seguia are among the most idyllic on the island, while water sports can be enjoyed at any of the beaches.

For a really special sight during holidays in Djerba, take a trip up to Ras Rmel. The eco-reserve is home to a vast number of gorgeous flamingos and their vibrant pink colour provides a truly spectacular contrast against the backdrop of the white sands and turquoise waters. On top of that, it’s also a dreamy spot for snorkelling and swimming, while the local fishermen offer up their freshly caught delights too.

Where to go & What see

There’s plenty of culture to be soaked up during Djerba holidays too. Houmt Souk’s old town is incredibly charming and the criss-crossed maze of alleys are perfect for an afternoon stroll, admiring all the crafts on sale, including hand-painted pottery made locally in the village of Guellala.

For family holidays in Dberja, the Med’s largest crocodile farm is must visit, while Djerba Explore Park and Aqua Park Pirate are great options for keeping the kids entertained.
