Nestled on the Red Sea, Hurghada holidays are a beautiful fusion of ancient history and modern revelry – a perfect advert for Egypt escapes.
Hurghada itself is a former fishing village turned popular beach destination, making the area very family-orientated with plenty to do during family holidays in Hurghada.
Head over to the spectacular Giftun Island for jaw-dropping beaches and crystal-clear waters which are ideal for snorkelling among the region’s stunning marine life. Equally, there are a number of opportunities for wonderful beach holidays in Hurghada itself.

Hurghada Grand Aquarium is among the best attractions for children to enjoy, with more than 1,000 species to see and learn about. From many varieties of fish to sharks, turtles, snakes and birds, a trip to the aquarium can easily keep you busy for several hours.
Back outside, soak up the beautiful Hurghada weather with a visit to Sand City, the only open-air sand sculpture museum in Africa and the Middle East. Here, you can stroll around the various sand-based monuments, including impressive replicas of the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx, as well as an array of cartoon characters. Elsewhere, Mini Egypt Park is another popular outdoors attraction for youngsters to learn about the history and culture of the country via a selection of awesome models.

After a few days in the Hurghada heat, a trip to Makadi Water World Egypt or Jungle Aqua Park could be on the cards to cool off, while evenings are well spent strolling through Hurghada Marina, where you can admire the (incredibly expensive) yachts before heading to a bar or restaurant.

Of course, Egypt holidays have to include some history, with so much fascinating ancient culture, mythology and sites to explore. Locally, you can learn more about Egyptian history and civilisation at Hurghada Museum, but if time allows, a day trip to the ancient city of Luxor or the capital, Cairo, are also options that shouldn’t be missed.
